Irresistible attraction. Unimaginable danger.

I knew from the moment Noah Williamson walked into the diner that he was haunted—deeply haunted—but I couldn’t resist the lure of him. He was gorgeous and fascinating and mysterious, and like a delicate moth to a brilliant blue flame, I was drawn to him. Drawn to his fire.

But if I’d known about his job, about what happened to his wife, I’d have run the other way. Before I got caught up in the red-hot blaze of his life. Before everything in my world got burned to the ground.

It’s too late to run now. I hesitated and that was it. I fell. I fell for him before I knew there was danger in loving him.

Noah once told me that this is the way we burn—together or not at all. At the time, I didn’t know what that meant.

Now I do.

**The Way We Burn is a love story…with a kicker! Suspense, chemistry, and twists galore, I can’t wait for you to jump in! But don’t be afraid. This is a stand alone VERY romantic story with a VERY satisfying ending. I promise:) xoxo M**

WOW!!!! What an epic mindf***!! It. Was. So. Good. Fantastic twist. I had suspicions about some things and couldn’t read fast enough to see if I was right. I didn’t see some of the twists coming. It was an intense roller coaster ride.

The Way We Burn by author Michelle Leighton is a fantastic journey filled with suspense, love, romance, sexy times with a dark edginess. I went through every emotion while reading this book. Author Michelle Leighton gives just enough to make me keep turning those pages frantically.

Noah is an amazing character. Not sure if he was the hero or the villain, I was drawn to him like a moth to the flame. I couldn’t make up my mind until I was deep into the story. Then I knew. He is without a doubt sexy, mysterious, secretive, strong and sexy AF. I could feel the love Noah had for Poppy bleed through the pages. My heart broke as we learn his story.

Poppy is incredible too. Strong, beautiful, quiet and mysterious in her own right. I couldn’t help but want her to get her happy ending.

The Way We Burn is captivating and compelling. It is written in alternating POV with flashbacks to the past to tease and torment the reader with clues and possibilities as to what is going on and who is who. My head was spinning with each piece of the puzzle revealed.

Author Michelle Leighton shows how talented and creative she is as an author. Her writing is so diverse, from YA to PN to sexy, hot AF contemporary romance to rip your heart out ugly snot crying emotionally charged stories to pulse racing, mind blowing romantic suspense like The Way We Burn.

Through it all, author Michelle Leighton never ceases to amaze me with how profound and deep the love is between her characters.

The Way We Burn is absolutely fantastic especially if you like your romance with an edge and air of mystery. One of the best I’ve read this year. Highly recommend!!
