My Dark Romeo by Parker S. Huntington and LJ Shen was everything I hoped for and more. I’ve never read Parker S. Huntington before but if this book is indicative of her writing, I’m going to check her out. As for author LJ Shen, I love her books. She writes the best alphaholes. Together these two creative, talented authors gave us not only a perfect antihero but a fantastic heroine as well. I loved Romeo and Dallas!
My Dark Romeo is twisty, angsty, steamy and funny. It has it all, from the perfectly crafted push / pull and fabulous banter between Romeo and Dallas, to the bromance between Romeo and his best friends. Great supporting characters, by the way!
I judge a book not only on character development and plot but on the emotions it brings out in me. This book had me laughing, sighing, swooning, and swearing!! Romeo was a nasty, sarcastic, condescending, a seemingly cold calculating heartless alphahole. He was also protective and completely taken by Dallas. She was an unexpected twist to his brilliant revenge plan. He was not ready for the way she turned his meticulously controlled life upside down and inside out. She was sassy and gave as good as she got, sometimes better! I live for this dynamic. Enemies to lovers perfectly done.
