I die for author Pam Godwin but her dark romance books are not for the faint of heart. And this book is no exception. It is a dark, disturbing, mess-with-your-head, spicy, addictive, twisty read with an ending that leaves you gasping and craving for more!!

Hills of Shivers and Shadows is the first book in author Pam Godwin’s Frozen Fate Trilogy. It is a cliffhanger so take note. But it is worth the read and the wait for the next one!! That being said, there are also trigger warnings (see below). Now for my thoughts.

I can’t say too much because I don’t want to give anything away. This is a book you should go into blind. Nothing is as it seems. There is evil in this story. Pure, unadulterated evil. But there is also hope, goodness, and love. But in the battle between good and evil, there are many grey areas.

Our heroine, Frankie, was living a charmed life until that fateful day. But was she? I liked her from the start. She is smart, fierce, independent, compassionate and strong. She definitely goes through the wringer.

The men she is trapped with are gorgeous, feral, dangerous and tortured. Each has his own unique story and demons, together they unite against their evil captor.

What an intense, dark, disturbing, angsty ride this has been. That ending?! I just can’t. Even knowing what author Pam Godwin is capable of, I was not ready. I need book 2 yesterday!
