In this highly anticipated novel in the Immortals After Dark series, #1New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole spins a sultry tale of a mighty warrior scarred inside and out and the beguiling sorceress with the power to heal him - or vanquish him forever.

Eternal Obsession

As a boy, Thronos, Lord of Skye Hall, loved Lanthe, a mischievous Sorceri girl who made him question everything about his Vrekener clan. But when the two got caught in the middle of their families’ war, tragedy struck, leaving Thronos and Lanthe bitter enemies. Though centuries have passed, nothing can cool his seething need for the beautiful enchantress who scarred his body - and left an even deeper impression on his soul.

Endless Yearning

Lanthe, a once-formidable sorceress struggling to reclaim her gifts, searches for love and acceptance with all the wrong immortal suitors. But she’s never forgotten Thronos, the magnificent silver-eyed boy who protected her until she was ripped from the shelter of his arms. One harrowing night changed everything between them. Now he’s a notorious warlord with a blood vendetta against Lanthe, hunting her relentlessly.

Can the heat of desire burn brighter than vengeance?

With their families locked in conflict and battles raging all around them, will Thronos and Lanthe succumb to the brutal chaos that threatens everything they cherish? Or will the fragile bond they formed so long ago spark a passion strong enough to withstand even the darkest doubts?

~ Karen Ponders ~

When it comes to sexy paranormal romance series, Immortals After Dark and their author Kresley Cole are in a league of their own. I will freely admit that I have been a Cole and IMD  (Immortals After Dark) devotee for **clears throat** years (had a lot less grey back then), long before eReaders when I stumbled upon an author with a cool first name.   With her first IMD book  A Hunger Like No Other, Cole had me hooked, as she had built a stunning world of Valkyrie, Lycan, Vampires, Demons, and a various mix of other paranormal beings whom are all looking for love in Heaven and Hell.  They all are helped or hindered depending on ones point of view, by meddling sticky fingers of Nix a soothsayer Valkyrie who may or may not be crazy like a fox, or just Nucking Futs.  Would you call a tree branch side the head a help or a hinder?  Take your pick I don’t care as I adore each and every one of the characters in these books.

In Cole’s latest book Dark Skye, it is the story of Melanthe (Sorceri i.e. magic user) and Thronos (Vrekener i.e. uptight law enforcer flying angel). These two crazy kids have had a long history that has been touched on in Cole’s previous books in the series.   They met as two sweet young kids, and became best friends until one happened to plummet a hundred feet out of an abbey window.  Smack. Crunch. Splat. The other might have had something to do with the plummet.  Fast forward 500 years and nothing really has changed: boy wants girl, girl wants to be left alone, boy won’t take no for an answer. Blood. Mayhem. Sex. Demons. Hell. Do you get the point that an Epic adventure ensues? Well it does and Cole provides great ADVENTURE, if you know what I mean. <<<< ADVENTURE was a euphemism for SEX…. which Cole can sure write about, toe curling, panty flaming EPIC SEX. Okay I think you all get the point that there are sexy times when the Sorceress and the Winged Wonder get together.  The Immortals’ love affairs never go smoothly and this one is bumpier than most. Did you remember the plummet, well it didn’t end all that well.  Grunges. Revenge. Vengeance. What I love about Cole’s books are that her heroines are feisty and take not prisoners.  You can be on top, but I get to have my turn too. The men are always alphas because they are immortal and used to getting their own way.  So feisty meet stubborn, stubborn meet feisty, let the games begin.  Well worth the read.

Disclaimer, I got the book from the publisher, I also bought the book.  I put my money and my book love where my mouth is.
