New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton brings her trademark blend of funny and sexy to this second contemporary romance in the brand-new Hudson Valley series!

Manhattan’s It Girl, Natalie Grayson, has it all: she’s a hot exec at a leading advertising firm, known industry-wide for her challenging and edgy campaigns. She’s got a large circle of friends, a family that loves her dearly, and her dance card is always full with handsome eligible bachelors. What else could a modern gal-about-town wish for? The answer, of course, is...cheese.

Natalie’s favorite part of each week is spending Saturday morning at the Union Square Farmer’s Market, where she indulges her love of all things triple cream. Her favorite booth also indulges her love of all things handsome. Oscar Mendoza, owner of the Bailey Falls Creamery and purveyor of the finest artisanal cheeses the Hudson Valley has to offer, is tall, dark, mysterious, and a bit oblivious. Or so she thinks. But that doesn’t stop Natalie from fantasizing about the size of his, ahem, milk can.

Romance is churning, passion is burning, and something incredible is rising to the top. Could it be...love?

Yesi’s Thoughts

Cream of the Crop is the latest installment in the Hudson Valley series and Alice Clayton brings her classic style back to the table with this new book. Cream of the Crop is full of sass, humor, and one insanely hot farmer! She takes us back to the picturesque town of Bailey Falls where she paints such a vivid picture that you can feel the town come to life and picture yourself right there along with Natalie, Oscar, Roxie, Leo, and the rest of the gang. It was the perfect setting for this book because nothing beats Fall in the Hudson Valley.

The story goes a little like this… New York City girl Natalie Grayson, who has a love for all things cheese meets hot, sexy, broody dairy farmer Oscar Mendoza, who happens to sell her favorite cheese at the weekly farmer’s market. A premise for a good, fun story, and this is exactly what we get. Natalie is confident, she loves her body, she is outspoken, she has a successful career as an ad exec, and does not have one shy bone in her body, that is until she sees Oscar every Saturday and can only manage a three word conversation…

“Brie?”

“Oh yes.”

That’s about it… the extent of their conversation, every single week. LOL! Oscar is a man of few words, he lives in Bailey Falls where Roxie, Natalie’s best friend, and Leo from book 1, live. So you can guess that their worlds will come together at some point. Natalie gets the opportunity to work in Bailey Falls for an ad campaign and her paths with Oscar are going to cross sooner rather than later. Once the story gets going as she reaches Bailey Falls, we start seeing a side of the hot farmer that I was dying to come out. It turns out that he had been paying attention all along and he too found Natalie to be absolutely gorgeous and wanted to know more about the city girl who strutted through the market every week. When they finally come together their chemistry is off the charts and the story just takes off.

“So, I hear you’ve got a huge barn. Care to show it to me sometime?”

Oscar leaned forward, planting his elbows on the table. “My barn is enormous.”

Things are all but easy, yes they are great in the sack, because yeah, that yummy farmer with a few words, has plenty to say when they are naked. Good Lord that man and his dirty mouth!  Although their time together is lighthearted and fun, everyone has a past and that past doesn’t always stay there. While Cream of the Crop isn’t super angsty, it is more laughs and sexy times than anything else, there are still a few obstacles that stand in the way of their happily every after. Will they overcome them? Can the city girl and the dairy farmer really make a life together? Those are the questions that will keep you reading and totally immersed from beginning to end.

This book is a great follow up to Nuts, and if you are fan of this author and her previous work, then this book must be added to your Summer Reading List. Cream of the Crop is full of laughs, good times, and tons of sexiness! I want to move to Bailey Falls and live on a farm with Oscar Mendoza!
