I can honestly say that author LJ Shen never disappoints. In fact, she continually delivers stories that are addicting and engaging from start to finish. The Villain is such a story. I was hooked from word one.
I must confess that Cillian’s character intrigued me when I met him in The Hunter. He has that “je ne sais quoi” that makes him irresistible regardless of how mean and rude. He is a rake, a perfect alphahole and then some. So naturally, I was salivating for his story. And what a story!! Unputdownable. Cillian is so much more than what he puts out there but he is also every bit cold, calculating, callous and cruel.
Enter Persephone. She is a fabulous heroine. Sweet, caring, beautiful and kind but not a doormat. She is smart, sassy and feisty. So much more than Cillian bargained for.
The push / pull is intense. The chemistry is palpable and unexpected. They are hot AF. And they can’t get out of their own way.
The Villian is a crazy rollercoaster ride, a bumpy journey to redemption. It has drama, secrets, unexpected twists, and great supporting characters that kept me turning pages and wanting more. I loved it and cannot wait for the next in this fantastic series. Highly recommend
