~ Maria’s Review ~

Author JR Ward continues to amaze me with the world building and continuity in the Black Dagger Brotherhood, keeping it one of my all time favorite series.

Lover Unveiled introduces us to Sahvage, a strong and powerful male with a traumatic past he keeps hidden. He manages to keep a low profile and stick to himself until he meets Mae.

Mae is a female desperate to find the answer to her prayers. While looking, she finds herself at an underground MMA fight. And in Sahvage’s orbit. So it begins. However, their story isn’t the only thing going on in this book. I did enjoy their journey. But I didn’t love Mae. She could get quite annoying. Sahvage, though I did love and he is a great addition to the BDB.

As Ms. Ward is famous for, her books have so much going on that if you blink, you could miss something very important. We get to know Balthazar better. We also meet some new characters that are key to the development of this storyline and set up possible future storylines, as well.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the new evil that definitely gives  the Omega and Lessening Society a run for their money, Devina. I loved hating her in the Fallen Angels series and she fits right in in Caldwell.

Lover Unveiled is filled with mystery, secrets, sarcastic wit, steam and love. Caldwell and the BDB are my favorite escape. A great addition to the series and I cannot wait for more!!!

About J.R. Ward

J.R. Ward is the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series of vampire books. She is a winner of the prestigious Romance Writers of America RITA award for Best Paranormal Romance and is a multiple RITA nominee. A graduate of Smith College, she was a double major in History and Art History with a medieval concentration in both and she still longs at times for a return to those days sitting in dark lecture halls, looking at slides of old triptychs and reliquaries. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, she was a corporate attorney, serving for many years as the Chief of Staff of one of Harvard Medical Schools premier teaching sites. Her idea of absolute heaven is a day filled with nothing but her computer, her dog and her coffee pot and the Brothers, of course.
